Justin Mays

Director of Faculty Development

Justin holds a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgia College and State University, and is currently in the dissertation phase of an Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction at Valdosta State University. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children - Juliette and Lilly - and are expecting one final, surprise, baby girl in late October. He was born and raised in Georgia, and currently lives in a historic "century-home" with his family in Newton County.

Justin began his career at Georgia Military College as an admissions counselor. Given the popular online learning preferences among students at the time, he transitioned over to the newly created Georgia Military College Online Campus, eventually serving as the director for the campus and growing their online enrollment across Georgia and into neighboring states. He joined Clayton State University in 2014 as the Director of Distance Learning, was promoted to Director of the Center for Learning and Teaching in 2015, and helped the university successfully prepare and execute their remote learning strategy as COVID shuttered institutions. He became Executive Director in 2022 and had a key role in successfully leading the university through their 2024 SACSCOC Reaffirmation.
